(also thanks to david for the above picture) the rest of the weekend has been nice as well. saturday was graduation and pro-grad at my school. ( pro-grad ) after i got home i slept for a few hours, got up and had brunch with my grandmother and aunt before they went back to michigan. it was great to see them again. my grandmother is going to send me her sekunda balalaika. i bet none of you have a balalaika. later on that day i met up with courtney and we went to grahm's graduation party, then stephanie's graduation party, and then went to the fine arts museum to see the last showing of the documentary on Ray Johnson, How To Draw A Bunny. he was a very humorous and mysterious man. [01 Apr 2004|01:32pm] [ mood | cheerful ] i'm home. my lung is finally back up and hopefully it will stay that way. when i have more time i'll tell a story later, including how my van got broken into and my amplifier, my Martin acoustic, and Airline guitar got stolen. but after all i've been through this past week, i'm too happy to just be out of that tiny hospital room and back into the world again. i feel as though i've missed a lot.

(10 screwed up. | oh no.) so much for saturday. [27 Mar 2004|02:52pm] Hello again. This is sonia. im updating for austin again. He was initially told he would be able to leave the hospital today, however when they clamped the tube coming out of his chest and turned off the atrium machine it is connected to, his lung began to deflate again. So now the tube is un-clamped, the machine is back on, and they are aiming for his release on monday tuesday. wednesday? Any comments or words of encouragement will be printed out and taken to him to read. =) <3

[24 Mar 2004|08:11pm] [ mood | sleepy ] this is sonia. austin asked me to leave this message. this morning i had to go to the hospital from school because of a severe pain in my upper right chest. after some normal procedures and an x-ray, i found out i have a partially collapsed lung. i had a very brief and minor 15-minute surgery inserting a tube into my chest to keep my lung fully inflated. i need to be here for a few days under supervision to make sure that everything's ok and the small hole heals over. i'm assuming ill come home saturday morning. i am doing just fine and it's actually an exciting experience. this entry is the easiest way to let a lot of people who im unable to contact know what's happening, and that everything is going to be fine. i love you all and hope to be home soon. take care. austin lloyd <3

(oh no.) oh no here they come. [23 Jan 2004|11:46pm] [ mood | exhausted ] [ music | The Shins- New Slang ] I was the only person on floor tonight at Michael's, basically meaning I was the only one young and able enough to sweep the whole store, take out all the trash, do two cart runs and a cart of returns. The store was also unbelievably busy tonight (of all nights) and we didn't get everyone out of the store until about 9:25. I seriously think people should just stop being creative altogether (except for my friends that shop there who actually have talent). I ended up not leaving until 11 (two hours after close) and all my friends have turned in for the night already. But I guess it is good to just sit around and relax. Come the beginning of February I won't be working at Michael's anymore, and I'll only be teaching guitar. I have enough students now where I make the same amount of money a month that I do at Michael's, and I only have to work 3 hours a week, not to mention I'll eventually get more students, so it's a good deal. Finally...the small beginnings of a band are in the works, so with some writing, creativity, practice, and even more writing, hopefully good things will happen.
